Mr Keiran Laurent, the owner of recruitment
company Workforce on Tap, says the first step is
to ensure the identity of the candidate, that they
are who they say they are.
"But obviously, there are other areas that need to
be verified," he says.
Mr Laurent says these are some of the areas an
employer needs to investigate:
1. Visa details, if relevant.
2. Qualifications are correct.
3. Background of candidates, so that their
employment history is correct.
4. Reference checks. It is imperative to ensure
that the names that are supplied are people
