THE Ettamogah Rail Hub (ERH) is a modern, independent
common-user rail hub facility located right on our doorstep,
offering container handling services between road and rail
transport modes across Australia.
Operational since June 2009, the $20m development is the
region's leading intermodal transport facility with the capacity to
handle at least 100,000 tonnes per annum.
The 20-hectare site adjacent to the Norske Skog newsprint mill
at Ettamogah is 10km from Albury's CBD and also provides road
access to the Hume Freeway.
ERH is linked to all Australian rail freight services with direct
access to the national freight line between Sydney and Melbourne
and also Albury airport.
ERH combines the flexibility of road transport with the efficiency
of rail transport for companies using rail to deliver raw materials
or finished goods; local road transport operators wanting to
expand their range of services; and those requiring a range of
transport options or value-added freight information services.
ERH's fortunes are in the experienced hands of Colin Rees, Future
Growth Developer of the Hub and former owner and executive
director of CRT Group, who has spent more than 30 years in the
"On a personal note, my daughter Kellie is the third generation of
our family to join the industry. Her grandmother Betty Rees, aged
90, started one of the first taxi-truck companies in Melbourne
in 1954 and was recently inducted into the Transport Hall of
Fame," Mr Rees said.
ERH's strategic location provides the region with an exceptional
transport and logistics facility, unrivalled in rural Australia.
