Home' Border Enterprise : October 2012 Contents EnTERPRiSE DiREcT OCTOBER 2012
Both Albury Northside and Wodonga
Chambers of Commerce have been
working hard to support our members
in business through our varied activities,
events and initiatives in 2012.
Since the last edition of Enterprise
Direct in April we have delivered the
Business Manufacturing and Innovation
(BMI) Festival; enjoyed a night with
Alisa Camplin OAM at the Women In
Chamber Gala Dinner; hosted extremely
successful Business After Hours functions
with more than 100 people attending;
and provided support through our
monthly members meetings all across the
Congratulations to all the winners of our
Chamber Business Awards which set a
record this year with more nominations
than ever before!
With the new look, simpler processes for
nomination and our wonderful people
including staff, volunteers, committee
and judges we look forward to continued
growth of the Chamber Business Awards
and even more nominations in 2013.
We recognise that some businesses are
doing it tough and one of the best tools
to combat challenging economic times is
focusing on referrals and strategic alliances.
There is no better time to join your local
chamber or retain your membership
than now. With regular opportunities to
get connected to others in business, a
direct channel to our region’s CEOs and
directors and industry focused events we
recommend you engage even more with
your local chamber – and benefit.
Membership information can be found on
both chamber websites or contact your
local chamber office to discuss the benefits
of membership today.
We were blown away by the reaction to the first edition
in April this year and thank all our members and the wider
business community for getting behind this publication.
Many non-members also saw the benefits of the magazine
and we look forward to a positive response to this edition
that exposes the many special products, services and
industries that make up business on the Border.
This edition focuses on the interaction between the
business sector and the general community in a sporting
and recreation sense and how that relationship creates a
unique regional spirit that sets us apart from other areas.
It celebrates the people and businesses that have chosen
to call Albury-Wodonga home and how that encourages
confidence in this region.
No doubt we all look forward to our region’s ongoing
growth and development.
