“We see Johnsons MME partnering with local sport as an
opportunity to do that,” said Rod Mullavey of Johnsons
MME accounting practice. “However, we also see it as an
opportunity to support the great work that sporting bodies
do in the local community.”
In 2012 Johnsons MME extended its sporting partnerships
by entering into a three-year sponsorship of the Ovens
& Murray Netball competition. “We saw that as a great
opportunity to support women’s sport in the local area
while providing an avenue for us to lift the awareness of
our brand,” Mr Mullavey said.
“We have also had a long standing sponsorship of the
Johnsons MME Border Mail Footballer of the Year
award. The Border Mail and the Ovens & Murray league
are both high calibre organisations and we are proud to
be associated with them as we are also a quality firm with
a similar regional footprint. It is an excellent fit.
“Active participation in sport is something we support as
positive for the individual and the community on so many
levels. Our firms’ partners and staff have always had a
significant involvement in sport. We actively encourage
our staff to be involved in local sport by funding an amount
towards their membership of participating sporting clubs.
Johnsons MME has recently agreed to sponsor a team in
the Inaugural Hockey 8s Charity Tournament, to be run in
Albury. “We have a significant staff participation in the sport,”
Mr Mullavey said, “and the funds raised by the tournament
will be split between the promotion of junior hockey in the
area and the Albury-Wodonga Carers Accommodation
“It really is a natural association for Johnsons MME to
be partnering with local sporting bodies as it achieves
the business objectives that we have from a branding
perspective and it also reflects our people, their
affiliations and the greater community purpose.
“It’s a win-win situation.”
Johnsons MME is a large regional accounting practice
that has been in business for more than sixty years.
Based in Albury-Wodonga, it serves clients over a
much wider region throughout New South Wales and
Victoria and provides a full range of accounting and
financial advisory services.
